Best Body Oil Buys

A friend recently re-introduced me to the benefits of body oils. She told me that it leaves skin smooth and shiny (in a good way). At first, I wasn't exactly sold on the idea of trying them again because when I think of body oils, I think of the guy on the street selling them and I haven't had the best experience with those!

Nonetheless, I decided to give it a go and try Neutrogena's Body Oil since I had seen it advertised over the years in just about every magazine on the newsstands. I tried it and it did give my legs a silky sheen, but I wasn't too keen on the fragrance. I haven't given up on body oils just yet because I do like the results; plus they're great for massages! I'll just keep looking until I find one that suits my senses.

Do you use body oils?

  4. i've tried sesame oil...which i guess is the generic brand of neutrogena...and it didn't moisturize my legs like i was hoping, it was still dry and i had to grab my trusty lotion...but maybe i haven't tried the right one...

  6. I have started using coconut or jojoba oils after my showers.

  7. I use sweet almond oil when I get out of the shower; my skin is terribly dry and lotions just don't cut it as a primary moisturizer for me. I may try a few of these that you've highlighted. Great post!

  9. I love body oils! Hmm mmmm, I used to have a man in Los Angeles and in Tampa, Florida that would hook me up with wonderful oils for the low. They last a lot longer that parfums. Sweet almond oil after a bath is divine!

  11. I'm a big fan of Neutrogena light Sesame body Oil after a bath while my skin is still wet before toweling off. I swear by it. I really prefer it to lotions. But the scent isn't for every one. Thanks for the warm welcome back to blog land!

    LOL!

I use baby oil gel and that's about it. :)

  14. I'm not big on body oils because my skin is fairly oily, however, a special friend of mine introduced me to Vitamin E oil and I've been hooked ever since. It makes my skin look and feel fabulous!

  15. @K-Bear - I keep hearing wonderful things about Vitamin E oil. It sounds like I really need to try it!

  16. I put oil in my bath. More of a lotion body butter person, but I remember my mom used to use oil on us when we were little. I may give it a try again!

  17. That sugar body oil at sephora sounds deliciously sweet. I think I will have to give that a try.

I do use body oils every now and then, and I must admit quite a few of those come from the man on the street (87th Street if you from Chicago). I actually try to stay away from the oils if I'm going to wear something really nice and special because sometimes the oil can get on your clothes, which I can't stand!

  18. I don't use body oils too often but I've been wanting to try that Neutrogena brand for a while...

  19. I love body oil! It makes my skin feel so soft. When I want to splurge I go for Carol's Daughter in "ecstasy," but when I'm on a budget, I find that Trader Joe's brand is cool too.

  20. I usually put on baby oil on my legs as soon as I get out of the shower. It not only keeps my legs moisturized but it also gives them a nice shine. I do want to try one of the spray versions though, same effect without the greasy hands!

  21. I love oils and have been a fan of baby oil gel--same benefit of oils but a little less mess. I like Johnson and Johnson lavender; it gives you a fresh scent and doesn't compete with perfumes.

Thanks for showing my blog some love ;-) I am a huge fan of yours!
