Comedian Bernie Mac & Soul Singer Isaac Hayes Die


Unfortunately, the entertainment community has lost comedian, Bernie Mac today, he was 50. He died from complications related to pneumonia in a Chicago hospital this morning according to his rep, Danica Smith.

My fellow Chicagoan will be truly missed!



According to CNN, soul singer Isaac Hayes has also passed away at the age of 65 (today, Aug. 10). Details are unknown at this time.

WHY IS IT THAT ALL OF A SUDDEN WE ARE LOSING THE MOST POWERFUL, SOULFUL, AND CLASSICAL PEOPLE...FIRST ITS BERNIE MAC...THEN ISSAC HAYES....I'M ONLY 13 BUT IVE BEEN LISTENING TO ISSAC HAYES SINCE I WAS 4 AND I'VE BEEN WATCHING BERNIE MAC SINCE I WAS 9....SO I BASICALLY GREW UP WITH THESE TWO SPECIAL PEOPLE'S ENTERTAINMENT AROUND ME....IN MY HEART THEY ARE ALWAYS HERE...THEY WILL TRULY BE MISSED...R.I.P. BERNIE MAC AND ISSAC HAYES

  8. I was stunned at the Bernie Mac news, he was so young and had so much left to live. Isaac was an amazing artist and legend. We've lost two giants in the industry. They will be truly missed.

  11. I'm just sick about Bernie leaving us so soon. BUT...he loved, he laughed and he lived. What more is there...nothing! God bless those closest to him as they struggle through this difficult time!

  12. So sad! Bernie Mac has this excellent interview that he did with Tavis Smiley. It should be on YouTube or PBS.org. He said some really inspirational and insightful stuff.

  13. BGG, I was so super sad to hear the news about Bernie Mac. I am still in a state of shock! I can honestly say that as a Chicago native myself and a lover of good comedy, I was a huge fan Bernie Mac. He will truly be missed!
