Styling Tools for Our 'Dos

When it comes to styling our hair, the tools that we use are important. I prefer using wide-tooth combs and paddle brushes to smooth my relaxed strands, but there are myriad tools that suit all hair types. From boar-bristle brushes to plastic fine-toothed combs, there are styling tools that will keep our 'dos in place at all times!

I recently came across a great brand of ceramic and tourmaline combs and brushes called Studio IM. One lucky reader will win the following combs and brushes valued at $49.50 from this line. Just leave a comment and a winner will be selected randomly. The winner will be announced on Tuesday.

What kinds of combs/brushes do you prefer? Wide-tooth, plastic, etc?

Nylon Paddle Brush available at www.studioim.com for $22

3-in-1 Combo comb available at www.studioim.com for $6

25mm Thermal Round Brush available at www.studioim.com for $16.50

Teasing Comb available at www.studioim.com for $5.00

**I KNOW YOU WON'T FORGET, BUT PLEASE LET YOUR VOICE BE HEARD TOMORROW AT THE POLLS!!!!

I'm big on hair care. LOL. I use a wide-toothed comb and my Denman brush for styling. That's it.

Can you believe I don't use any tools on my hair? Kinda crazy, uh? LOL! Have a great Monday, BGG!

I used a wide-tooth comb, paddle brush, a boar bristle brush to smooth the edges. But my best tool is my shower comb. I love it and it really makes a difference with detangling my hair.

This collection looks great too.

Pretty as those combs are, they don't stand a chance with my curls and kinks.

I'm a hair care fanatic! I'm always trying something different for my hair. I prefer wide tooth combs and paddle brushes.

BGG, like you I prefer wide tooth combs and paddle brushes. Periodically, I go back to the hard bristle brush of my youth. It's the only thing that will work when my relaxer is over due!

it all depends on what i'm doing to my hair but for the most part i use a paddle brush, a natural brush and a medium size tooth comb...a finer comb for parts and such but that's a given :)

I also prefer wide tooth combs. I was told once by a hair stylist that brushes aren't healthy for your hair. Can anyone tell me if that really so..

I'm constantly having a battle with hair brushes, because of my long hair.
I'm afraid of round brushes, since I got one stock on hair once.
A paddle brush work better for me. Next time I need a new brush I'll try your suggestion on the Nylon Paddle.

I love paddle brushes and wide tooth racks to give my hair some oomph. I will be casting my vote tomorrow...It feels like Christmas. Definitely can't wait for a historical outcome.

I'm a hair care fanatic. I spend so much on hair dryers, flat irons, and curling irons (there so expensive now!) I only have enough for a cheap paddle brush from the drugstore. =[ I guess it gets the job done...done well is another question.lol. great product though.
