Get to the Root!

For all the BGs who wear their hair straight, I have found a product that you'll surely love! This past weekend, I tried the R Sessions RootControl. This popular styling tool is part straightening comb and part 1/2 inch ceramic barrel iron. It gets (straightens) to the root of your hair allowing you to get close to the scalp without ever feeling the heat.

Plus, it has three heating levels that you can select depending on the coarseness of your tresses. At first, I wasn't sure if it would do the job, but I was pleasantly pleased with the results considering I hadn't had a relaxer in about 5 months. For women who desire straight styles or who just want to smooth out roots or edges, this tool is a must-have. It is the perfect complement to the trusty flat iron because it reaches areas that the ceramic plates can't without burning your scalp. I think my hair styling arsenal is finally complete!

Available at www.rsessiontools.com for $179.99

Have you ever used the RootControl tool? If so, what are your thoughts? One lucky winner will win one (a $179.99 value). Just leave a comment and a winner will be selected randomly and announced tomorrow.

  4. I am sure I have seen this somewhere and I wondered if it really worked.

I was also wondering would it take forever if you had thick hair?

  5. i wish i had something like this when i was still flat ironing my hair. i will actually need it when i start back up again. right now, im just trying to let it regain it's strength.

  6. You know I'm natural, but I could use a good flat iron/straightening tool. I got my hair straightened for the first time in a year and a half and when home only to find out my old flat iron is broken. Womp.

  7. Good point Kay C,

I would think one with thick hair could use a flat iorn forst without focusing on the roots then use this

Have you heard of the new lines of organic relaxers? I'm a natural but my 10 year old niece got a dredful relaxer about a year ago and her poor hair has never been the same. So I've been trying all kinds of new products to save her from someone ruining her luscious locks. I'm trying the organic relaxer when it arrives in about a week! I'm excited!!

I've never heard of the RootControl, but boy am I excited to! LOL.

  19. I haven't tried this as I have locs but I'm sure my daughter would appreciate it. I'm not going to say I'm ALWAYS catching her scalp when I straighten her hair...but there have been the few times when things have gotten a bit too hot for her.

  20. That is so funny because I was just telling my mother I was thinking about getting the instyler. I need something for the roots in between relaxers because I've been hitting the gym and have a brillo pad by the time my workout is done. LOL.

  22. OMG I would LOVE to have this! I tried using my trusty (wonderful) Sedu straightener when I washed my hair and although it got my strands straight...my roots were still "big". I would love something like this.

  23. Can this only be used on the roots?
    (fingers crossed)

  24. This is brilliant. I just got my hair blown out the other day, but left worried about the curly roots that I knew were waiting to rear their heads in a most untimely fashion.

    They're here.

  25. I have not used it myself but, have seen ppl work wonders with it. Particularly blending with weaves.

  26. Ahhhh snap! This is cool, even if I don't win I may actually need to invest in this!!

  27. The sounds like a great tool for me since my hair is natural. Every now and then, I like to have options and deviate from the regular afro puff. The problem is when I flat iron...the roots rebel against it.

I've heard of it but I also knew the price would knock me right out of the box! Trust me, as a teacher, the few pennies I do earn are already accounted for!

Or should I just say...Pick me! Pick me!

    Enjoy your day:)

  28. Sorry...the English Teacher in me is rearing its ugly head...I meant to say in the post above "THIS sounds like a great tool for me..."

    but still...Pick me, Pick me!

  29. With all these comments my chance of getting picked are slim lol .. but nevertheless this is a great giveaway!

  30. That sounds amazing, my mother would finally be proud of my hair... I always get the, "I didn't raise you to walk out the house looking like that..." and a few other comments that I'm not sure are appropriate. me, please?

  32. I've never used this product. I watched the instruction video and it looks like it may be what I need right. I like straight edges but I am trying to go until the summer without a relaxer, this product looks like it could help me get the edges I want with out using chemical.

  33. I so need this in my life!!

    ReplyDelete
  34. To say I need one of these would be an understatement. Pick me!!!!

  36. I saw this on the tyra banks show but wasn't sure it would work for coarse natural hair like mine. I get blowouts and my roots are never straight hopefully this will work for me as well. I'm really tempted now to invest in this tool.
