Mani Mania

Since we are still living in a recession many women are continuing to cut back on beauty-related luxuries such as visits to the spa and nail salons and opting to take matters into their own hands - literally.

Equipped with a great manicure kit, it is possible to pamper yourself with a marvelous mani in the comfort of your home without spending much money. Granted, it may not look as polished as a professional job, but it will still look good and keep a few extra dollars in your pocket.

So skip a few trips to the salon and grab some pretty polish, a nice kit and do it yourself! You'll save a bundle and still have beautiful hands.

Have you cut back on any beauty-related luxuries? Do you ever do your own manicures?

Check out these manicure kit!

  3. I do my own periodically but it's no fun at all. My feet are simply ridiculous at this point. The PedEgg does work but there's nothing like sitting in that crazy vibrating chair while soaking your dogs in hot sudsy water. Recession be damned. I'm making an appointment!

  4. I swear by Bliss Spa products (all of em) and Bath & Body Works "Toe the Line" pedicure products. Oh, they are phenomenal!!! Also, a pedicure trick I have is to put on too much lotion or cream on my feet in my socks (like an asinine amount) before I go to the gym.

My feet are silky smooth and ready for polish after that.

  5. @T - Thanks for that tip!! I'm going to try that - I guess I'm going to have to actually go to the gym to do it! LOL

  6. I wish I had nails to have a manicure, but alas all I can get is a pedicure.

  8. I have always done my own nails - hands and feet. I do a much better job than any professional mani/pedi I've ever had - people ask me where I get my nails done and are surprised when I say I do them myself.

$20 worth of supplies and I'm good for a year - or two!

The only time I got regular pedis was when I was pregnant and couldn't get to my feet :)

  9. I've done my own manicures, but I lack patience.... I'm much better at doing my own pedi and going to get a mani!

  12. Just gave myself a mani this weekend and it was so relaxing. I haven't painted my nails in about 2 years. Now I am hooked.
