Put Your Best Face Forward!

During my birthday trip to Houston I was treated to my very first facial! It’s true, I was a virgin to the relaxing process that purifies pores, sloughs away dead skin and leaves your face feeling smooth and rejuvenated. Yes, I know I’m a late bloomer.

Of course I had done mini-facials in the comfort of my own bathroom before, but never had I had an actual professional esthetician perform one on me. I absolutely love to be pampered so it was the perfect gift.

Since getting professional facials can be a bit pricey, here are a few over-the-counter products that just might give you that same spa experience!

How often do you go to a spa for a facial?

Pretika Sonic Dermabrasion Facial Care System available at www.target.com for $59.99

Nivea Visage Q10 Gentle Spa Microdermabrasion Kit available www.drugstore.com for $19.49

Pangea Organics Facial Mask Japanes Match Tea with Acai and Goji Berry available at www.nordstrom.com for $34

Vitamin Infusion Home Facial Kit available at www.ulta.com for $70

Bliss Pore Perfecting Facial Polish available www.blissworld.com for $30

Neutrogena Advanced Solutions Facial Peel available at www.ulta.com for $21.49

Bliss Youth Group Skin Care Kit available at www.blissworld.com for $68

Cosmedicine Spa-It-Yourself at Home Facial Kit available at www.sephora.com for $95

Seaweed Pore-Cleansing Facial Exfoliator available at www.thebodyshop.com for $12.50

Sue Devitt Micro-Quatic Anti-Ageing Facial Treatment available at www.spacenk.com for $125

Hey BGG
Love this post.
I too am a late bloomer.
Normally my facials are done right at home. I have the spa facial dome to give my skin a nice steam cleaning, then I use a variety of products to achieve skin perfection, or as close to it as I can come. However it feels great when someone else is papmering my skin.
Thanks for posting all of these different products.

BGG, I too love to be pampered, however, my skin is very sensitive. I've tried professional facials a few times and each time I end up with issues. It's always short lived but I've given up on the pros. From now on it's me, myself and I so thanks for the list of options. I look forward to experimenting with some of them!

Hey don't be ashamed to admit it I never had a professional facial neither. Although I always wanted one. If any of the things you listed comes even close to a profeesional facial I'll try it.

Pampered is my favorite word and a good facial can make you feel like you just went straight heaven. Here in NY I've gone to Bliss and I have used their products which are good. But the place that I can't wait to go back is Soho Sanctuary. My facial started with a foot massage that got me so relaxed that when they worked on my face I looked and felt 10 years younger.
So the next time someone asks you if you would like for a gift - tell them you want to be pampered with a facial!

I love facials! Sooo relaxing. I don't have them as often as I'd like. Usually it's a birthday or holiday gift thing for me. Great post. I'm glad you enjoyed yours. I'm afraid you're on the dark side now. LOL!

i remember my barber use to give me mini facials at the shop. that hot towel and then cold towel had a brother face feeling smooth.

I'm super late, but I LOVE facials. I've decided that I'm only getting real facials at the spa from now on. The mini-facials leave so much undone.

At home facials are what's up too.

Great post!

Glad you enjoyed your facial!

I totally agree with all who've said they are so relaxing.

I used to get them once a month, but that's turned into once every six months or so.
