I Love Your Smile!

Nothing brightens up one’s look like a beautiful smile! Showing your pearly whites instantly make you look younger and happy. In order to keep our mouths healthy, it’s recommended by the American Dental Association (ADA) that we visit our dentist regularly to have our gums examined and teeth professionally cleaned.

It’s imperative that we maintain good oral hygiene for not only superficial reasons, but also visiting your dentist can help prevent you from developing gum disease, tooth decay and even the loss of teeth.

What do you use to help keep your grin looking great? Have you ever tried tooth whitening? If so, did you like the results?

Check out some of these products to keep your mouth fresh and healthy!

Great topic. I have tried crest strips and I think they work and I have never even finished an entire box. I am in the process of testing another teeth whitening system now. Love listerine, didn't try the purple one though. Flossing is a must along with regular brushing.
Great post as always.

I used Crest Whitening Strips a few years ago and they worked like a charm. I think it's time to do it again. I've heard that peroxide will whiten your teeth since it has a bleaching agent but I haven't tried it myself. I don't floss as much as I should though my dentist says if you ever find yourself having to choose between brushing and flossing you should choose flossing!

I go to the dentist 3 times a year (yeah, I'm an overachiever). I brush twice a day and floss once a day. I also use a toothbrush with gum stimulators. Let me tell you ladies, it will change your life. LOL!

I've never tried any whitening treatments or straightening treatments. I also wear a mouth guard at night because I grind my teeth. (ICK.)

Dentists are opportunists like every other professional though, so I only half-listen to what my dentist is telling me.

I've never had braces, nor a retainer, so when my dentist tells me I should use invisalign to make sure my teeth don't BECOME crooked, I just give her the side eye.

Lastly my favorite products are: Crest Whitening Expressions - Herbal Mint (Refreshing)

Crest Glide Comfort Plus Floss - Mint (Expensive, yet so comfy)

Scope - Peppermint (no explanation needed)

Listerine is the truth though, to keep cavities away and an honorable mention goes to Aquafresh Extreme Clean. It's also a refreshing experience.

BGG, I love you for always coming up with the wonderful topics!

I've tried the crest strips in the past. It was okay. I didn't like having to remember to use it both morning and night. I also found it somewhat of a challenge to leave the strips in my mouth for the full recommended time.

Smiling is something that we should do more.
I do admire and am jealous of perfect white teeth!
Mine are not as perfect as I will like them to be.
I'm eyeing the Phillips Sonic Care but it seem it bit high for my pocket.
Good research have not seen the Peroxyl cleanser before.
I have tried the whitening strips and they do work but I'm scared of swallowing them and having them bleach my stomach and not my teeth! LOL

i love listerine vanilla mint and i love the dental flossers. i can't be bothered with pulling strings and all that. i use whitening paste but am a little leery of using at-home whiteners. the dentist just makes me feel better about whitening my teeth...

Those Creat whitening strips made my teeth hurt so badly... but I hung in there... My teeth did turn out white.

But NOW I use a technique called "Oil-pulling". It's natural and painless and does wonders on my teeth. Just swish for 20-30 mins in the morning or nite, and spit lol. There are also claims that it rids your body of toxins, but I just use it for teeth whitening purposes only... Oh I use unrefined sesame seed oil.
-Google it, it works wonders on my skin also

I love the Listerine it works so well, also I stress flossing flossing and flossing some more it will prevent a lot of issues. Be sure to brush three times a day and eat healthy too.

Another thing, if you are out for a night on the town, you have a great meal and on the way to go dancing, if you cant brush club soda helps neutralizes your breath. Get a glass b/f your breath mint and you are good to go.

xo,
CC

One thing I've learned from my dentist is to only use toothpaste and mouthwash that have been approved by the ADA (Colgate Total to be specific). Once you start looking, you'll find that many brands aren't ADA approved.

I MUST floss!! I know some people who don't floss at all and I'm horrified as to what is probably leaving in the crevices of their teeth! GROSS!!

I go to the dentist way too much. I agree with you, T, dentists are opportunists and tell you about all the wrong things with your mouth that are perfectly fine. I used to fall for it, but not anymore!!

I sincerely trust my dentist in Collierville for keeping my pearly whites healthy. He treats each patient professionally, and my visits to him have always been helpful. When it comes to whitening, he gives me a more informed view of the different methods of whitening.

Right now, I'm about to use a take-home teeth whitening kit. I also use ADA-certified toothpaste, as advised by the dentist. Collierville is fortunate to have dentists who work with their patients.
