Buckle Up!

Even though belts have been prevalent on the runways for the last couple of seasons, it doesn’t seem like the trend is going anywhere anytime soon. Belts are must-have accessories for all women for the spring. Whether you’re plus size or a size 0, a belt can instantly add polish to an outfit. Belts can accentuate and cinch a small waist on curvy women or help create an illusion of a waist for women who have boyish shapes.

Wide belts look best when worn with flowing dresses, pencil skirts and even with tops worn with jeans. While skinny belts worn with the popular high-waisted wide-legged trousers add a sophisticated balance.

Also, be sure to pick up a few in bold primary colors like red, blue and yellow, which are the "it" colors for spring. Belts in these eye-catching hues can bring an ordinary, dull black dress to life!

Whatever your fashion taste happens to be, a stylish belt will definitely spice up your wardrobe. Check out some of these for fashion inspiration!

I can't really do the wide belts. I think my waist is too big or something...

Afrodite, I'm with you. I like the look on other girls but I think belts accentuate my M C Hammer hips. I can get away with a regular belt with a regular pair of jeans but that's about it. And there is no way you'll ever catch me with a big yellow anything on...fashion or not. I'm just not a primary color kind of girl. I guess I'm out this season! So!

I love the belt post! I was totally thinking belts yesterday while shopping for new bag.
PS- I flagged you in my bag post today. Thanks.

I thought wearing belts above the waist was an 80's thing? I don't know. I'm short, not even five feet, but I would try.I've seen a couple dresses on that show How to Look Good Naked with Carson Kressley, and they looked pretty nice with belts.

I must admit...I love wearing belts to cinch my waist!! Maybe wearing a belt above the waist isn't for everyone, but I'm a fan! LOL!

@K-Bear...try a little dash of yellow this spring...you just might like it. Two years ago I carried this yellow purse and got TONS of compliments. The key is to not overdo it.

I have no curves so I tend to avoid belts. I may try one if I can find one that would really work with my figure. :D

BGG, I don't think I can wear yellow without singing Girls Just Wanna Have Fun! Oh I wore all the colors back then but now it just looks silly. I know...it's in but I just can't see the fabulous 40+ women wearing yellow...something about it is just wrong! ha!

I love belts but I'm a bit afraid of them.
Having a small waist and round hips I only use belts to accentuate my hips but your photos have gave me inspiration for this spring.

I've seen so many girls in the red belt, red earrings, red shoes, red purse combo that I am forever traumatized. Belts are fabulous but please do not wear moe than two pieces of the same color, and even that may be pushing it!!! Black is fail-safe and always instant-chic!

H&M has great belts for cheap at great prices....

This season a splash of color like a red belt, royal blue belt or yellow bag is a season must have. If you can't rock the belt add a splash of color with your shoes or accessories.

Afodite, you should try a large belt with a pair of jeans and a long shirt. I bet you will like it. Large belts can make you look slimmer if you wear it right.

BGG, I love your fashion selections. By the way, a few months ago you featured a varitey of coats. They are all on sale now at macy's for 60% off!!!!
