Double-Duty Moisturizers

I'll be honest, I'm not a fan of foundations; but tinted moisturizers with SPFs are nice alternatives. These light-weight formulas do double-duty because they act as an SPF moisturizer, which protects your skin from the sun, as well as provide a bit of coverage. They're especially great to use during the summer when you don't want to apply a heavy base. With tinted moisturizers, you can forgo your foundation, which allows your skin to breathe. Plus, you can still maintain a fresh and sheer look without looking "made-up."

The best part is that they're just like us BGs, you can find them in all shades!

Have you ever used tinted moisturizers?

I just [relatively] recently got into Tinted Moisturizers. I like the Prescriptives Custom Blend TM a lot and right now I am using MAC's Select Tint SPF 15 - it's not technically a TM because its not a moisturizer, but the tint is nice and subtle.

I have heard of tinted moisturizers but I haven't tried them because I'm one of the unfortunate ones who need heavy coverage. I would like to have one of these around though for weekends when I might just need to make a mad dash to the gas station or something. I think I'll try the one from Walgreens.

I have found that tinted moisturizers are great to use especially in the summer when you don't want to wear foundation. Lately, I've been using Jane Iredale's Dream Tint. I like it because it doesn't have perfume and its not that greasy.

I'm not too crazy about tinted moisturizers myself, I'm always nervous that the 'tint' won't fit me.

I must admit, I don't use SPF on my face like I should. Reason, being my double duty moisturizer is acne med plus moisturizer. So I need a triple duty moisturizer. Anyone have any suggestions?

i have used the Laura Mercier one, but i made me look a bit too dark after a while. i am a big fan of the self tanner moisturizers that gradually work up a natural glow.

I've used a tinted moisturizer before. It was from Cover Girl. I like tinted moisturizers because they blend in with the skin color but there aren't alot of shades for my skin color. I really like the Skin Tint Moisturizing Treatment from Sephora, its something I would try.

@antithesis - we are always on the same page! LOL

@T- You really should be using something with SPF!!! I'll have to look into a triple-duty moisturizer for you. :-) Stay tuned.

@Nywele - I love both books! Amy's was so informative.

I love Laura Mercier's TM. It's great. I just wish it came in more shades.

I am having a contest on my blog. I am giving away 2 Bobbi Brown eyeshadows and a travel sized mascara. Log onto site for details.

I rarely use anything on my face, but when I do I use a loose mineral powder light weight foundation. When I don't feel like applying that from time to time I use a tinted moisturizer that I purchased from Mary Kay...it's actually pretty good. It makes my skin look nice and smooth without over doing it.
