Eco-Friendly Fashions!

We've all heard the term, "go green" a million times in the past few years. Although eco-friendly products have become somewhat of a trend, the truth is that purchasing products that are environmentally-safe is a smart choice that ultimately affects us all.

A few nights ago, I had the pleasure of attending a "Be EcoChic" runway fashion show at the American Museum of Natural History. The goal of the event was to educate consumers about the wide variety of fashions that are both stylish and good for the earth. We can all make a conscious effort to help preserve our world, even fashionistas!

Do you buy eco-friendly fashions? If not, would you consider it?

Here are a few pics from the show:

Alek Wek was a crowd favorite in Chado Ralph Rucci and an eco-bag from her own line, Alek 1933.

Eco fashion has come a long way, I loved every single piece! Thanks for showing us that you could still look good and look out for the planet!

BGG, I'm all for saving the planet but I don't think I'd actually go looking for eco-friendly items. If they happen to be at the mall and affordable, I'd definitely make the purchase. It's just amazing how they can recycle various items and turn them into high fashion!

I have not purchased eco friendly clothing, at least not knowingly but I am not opposed to the idea.
Alek looks great.

I'd buy eco-friendly items if they were cute and not so doggon expensive but just between you and me, how do we really know they are any friendlier than the stuff we already own and wear? I'm sorry but this election has me all upset and suspicious!

That Michael B. piece is divine! I want one! I've gone green in a lot of areas but definitely not in the fashion area but you got me thinkin' twice.

I am in the process of making the switch to all things green from what I eat to what I put on my body (lotion, soaps, makeup,etc.). I like the idea of buying earth friendly clothes, and I am certainly willing to purchase them if they become readily available and affordable.
