Grammy Time!

Even when we are going through incredibly trying times, nothing can work as an instant pick-me up like the universal language - music! With the 51st Annual Grammy's airing live on CBS on Sunday, I wanted to know what you guys thought of the nominations.

Do you agree with the list of nominees? What is your favorite? Do you feel like someone was overlooked? I personally felt as though Mariah Carey should've been nominated in at least one category because I loved every last song on her CD, E=MC2. Well, maybe not every single song, but most of them.

Ne-Yo's Year of the Gentleman is nominated for Album of the Year.

Estelle's "American Boy" is nominated for Record of Year.

Leona Lewis is nominated for several awards, including Best Pop Vocal for "Bleeding Love."

Jazmine Sullivan is nominated for Best New Artist. Click here to read my interview with her.

Lil' Wayne is nominated for several awards including, Album of the Year for Tha Carter III.

M.I.A.'s "Paper Planes" is being nominated for Record of the Year.

Click here for the full list of nominations.
Btw, the winner of the $50 Home Depot gift card is Rebee! Congrats! Please email me your mailing address.

Grammy's use to equal fun and excitement! Now, I couldn't tell you one thing about it and who's going to be on it, I don't watch it! The last time I was into the Grammy's was when Micheal Jackson was on stage with his brother's and then broke out with his timeless solo act, and I saw the moonwalk for the first time :-) The next one I was into, was when Envogue took the stage, I couldn't get enough, I was in love with them! I'm sure I will not catch this year's show, I will more than likely be out having a good time here in Tampa, since i'm looking to leave here shortly to Atlanta, BGG keep up the good work! Love ya!!!

BGG, I cannot believe Mariah wasn't nominated nor was Jennifer Hudson. That's just wrong on all sides! And I know the world is sick of Beyonce but she is still amazing! Jazmine Sullivan is also great so I'll be rooting for her! Estelle would not make my list at all and neither would Leona Lewis.

@K-Bear - Actually Jennifer Hudson is being nominated for 4 awards. As for Beyonce, I think her album didn't make the cut off for nominations this year. Not sure though...

Btw, I loved Estelle's "American Boy!!" I guess you didn't! LOL

For me I'm very happy that MIA was nominated. I also love Leona Lewis and she does have an amazing voice and of course Ne-Yo's.
I'm looking forward to watch the show and enjoy the performances.

I have not paid much attentions to the Grammys this year. Of the list I just got Jazmine Sullivan and still have to give it a real listen, I love her voice though. I Got Adele and played her like crazy this year. She has an amazing voice. I really like Duffy too. I loved American boy and Estelle's album was cute. The rest I'm not that into. I do think Ne-Yo deserves a no though. he's had tons of hit and works really hard.

While I love music, I don't really think I'm the authority on deciphering art from trash. I just know what I like to shake my booty to. :)

Hopefully the grammys won't be a big bore the way all shows are starting to be. I also hope I remember to watch it. LOL!

I really don't watch the Grammy's. It's extremely boring. I don't think that it's always fair. There are people that I album sales were through the roof and they never get nominated for anything! Neyo would not have made my list. He's a wonderful producer, but I didn't like his album.

I'll actually probably catch the Grammy's sometime next week. I like to DVR award shows so I can fast-forward to the performances and through all of the boring parts.

I recognize the names and most of the songs, but lately music has left me unimpressed. The last CD I bought was Anthony Hamilton's latest. I'm getting old . . .

I feel like the same people get nominated year after year. Oh and I do not like Neyo. His music is totally unoriginal and I cannot stand the way he dresses.

I love watching the awards shows, so I am pretty sure I will be tuning in to the Grammy's this year. Happy to see Ms Jazmine and Ms Jennifer nominated... they both are talented ladies. I only cared for one song from MC album and that was "Love Story". I love M.I.A too! Took a minute for her to grow on me.

I agree with whatever board or committee of the Grammys who nominated Leona Lewis, Jazmin Sullivan and MIA. They have great music and talent. I'll be catching what I can on YouTube and hope that the people with the best talent and love for music win.

You know, I was never really into award shows. To be honest, I pretty much hated them. They always seemed like such a bore to me. Needless to say, if you didn't mention the Grammy's, I don't know if I would have even known that the award show would be airing this upcoming Sunday.

LOVE M.I.A!!!

I mostly listen to indie rock so the Grammy's don't excite me that much. But I'm glad that Leona Lewis is nominated. She has a phenomenal voice!

Now that the show is over, we can be a bit more fearless and voice what everyone always knew, that there was little that could redeem this year's show.
