Manifest Hope Recap!

As promised, here are a few shots that I took while visiting the Manifest Hope: DC Gallery on Monday. The exhibit showcased photographs, sculptures, paintings and other original pieces created by incredibly talented visual artists across the United States who used their craft to motivate the grassroots movement that ultimately carried President Obama to victory.

Although the exhibit was only open to the public for two days and is now officially closed, I just wanted to share some of these breathtakingly brilliant artistic creations.

Which one is your favorite? **Unfortunately, I didn't think to get the artists' names or the names of the creations.

I always admired people that could make masterpieces with an etch a sketch... I was never good at that thing. That's probably my fav but that cake is looking rather good right now too!

As a wife to a strong Black man who is dedicated to serving our community, I must say I love the the "Victory" piece that has President Obama pictured with his wife and our first lady. To me that picture symbolizes that his wife was an essential element in his success.

I like the Time cover and the Victory image. They are all such wonderful pieces of work.

I love them all but my fav is the Victory shot of the First Couple. I just know he wouldn't be president if it were not for Michelle! Seriously, this is the first time we really see the President as a family man and I attribute that to both of them. They are a force to be reckoned with! Every time I think of them and their girls, I get choked up! They speak to the power of the black family BEFORE the destruction caused by slavery! Gobamas!
