Must-See TV: CNN's Black in America 2

Ever since CNN aired the super controversial Black in America two-part series last year, I have anxiously awaited a new installment of the documentary. Many people were not pleased with the topics that were covered in the original series, which resulted in a lot of heated discussions and debates surrounding the show and how we as African-Americans were being portrayed.

This time around, CNN host Soledad O'Brien promises that it will provide a balanced and truthful overview of the state of African-Americans this time around.

Here is an exclusive clip from the show featuring comedian Steve Harvery. Check it out here.

Part 1 airs tonight on CNN 9pm, EST. Will you be tuning in? What were you thoughts on the last one?

i watched both nights last year. i dont know about watching again this year. i agree that the plight of the black american cannot be covered in just a few hours over the course of two nights but i also dont feel like the show is for me. i think it's a great educational tool for those who dont live and see it everyday. im not saying i didnt learn anything but i think it's more beneficial for "others" to watch.

I think I'll watch. I didn't watch last time, because it wasn't appealing to me. Then after everyone else watched it, we had heated discussions about the topics and themes.

I think I'm too busy being Black in America to have CNN tell me what being Black in America is.

I'll probably watch tonight. If it's some gah-bage I will not be turing in for the second night.

I was terribly disappointed with the last one but I will give this one a try. I feel obligated since it's about us! As for Steve Harvey, I just can't stand to even listen to his voice let alone anything he has to say. Sorry.

Amen T!!!

I have mixed feelings in regards to the last installment, but I might tune in to this one just to compare. I don't necessarily feel I need to be shown what it is like to be black in America... I live that every day. I do see how it could be beneficial for other nationalities and races to see black people in another light aside from a negative one.

I really didn't care for last years showings. But I just watched the first installment of Part II and it was really good. I will watch tomorrow. It was more solution oriented.
