Color-Correcting Concealers!

Many BGs suffer from hyper-pigmentation (when patches of skin become darker in color than the normal surrounding skin) due to old blemishes or acne scars and I’m no exception. I usually have at least one blemish that I try to hide with concealer. I dab a bit on the dark spot and then cover it with a bit of foundation and the unsightly blemish is virtually gone!

For years I’ve used Dermablend’s cover creme to conceal dark circles or dark spots, but just last week I tried Susan Posnick’s color corrector stick and was incredibly pleased with the easy application and overall results.

Do you use concealer? If so, what’s your favorite brand?

Check out some of these:

Good morning BGG! And happy Monday! I rely on concealer since I don't wear foundation and I love that MAC one that comes in the pot. It's the only one I've ever used but I adoooore it. Shoot me an email if and when you have time. I gots to tell you somethin'!

I just learned the benefits of concealer. I used to not wear wake-up, then little by little I've been adding a "must-have" to my bag. The bag's pretty big now, complete with a Sonia Kashuk brush set. LOL!

Anyway, I use MAC concealer. It works wonders and I use the one in the compact, not the tube. I have two colors, so I can deal with that hyperpigmentation (or in my case, scars from popping pimples that I KNEW I should have left alone)

BGG, I'm mad at all concealers today! I currently use MAC but over the years I have used others but none of them really work well for me. It seems no one has come up with a good match for my particular skin tone. It doesn't help that mys kin is super oily. I put the concealer on and then when I attempt to cover it with my foundation, it just wipes off the concealer. I try patting it lightly and all that crap, it just doesn't really work so I end up putting my foundation on first, then I use the concealer, then I cover the concealer with more foundation. The result is a lot of time wasted on FOOLISHNESS! grrrr

I may have to try that Susan Posnick. I usually use Revlon Colorstay mixed with MAC full coverage. That's one ov the great things about Kevyn Aucoin's foundation. No extra concealer needed.

OMG I suffer from the raccoon effect (dark rings around the eyes). I use Iman concealer. I love it!

No, I don't use concealers. It just seems like too much work for me.

Choosing a concealer that works for you can be some what difficult if you do not understand what you are trying to conceal. If you are trying to cover dark circles you first need to look at what color the circles or blemishes are ie blue, green or red) If you find your product is not working and you're wiping your product off try patting and not rubbing.

I've never been able to find the perfect concealer. But I'm interested in trying the dermablend, if you swear by it, it must be good!
