Raising the Bar!

When it comes to cleansing my body, I've always preferred liquid soaps and shower gels over bar soaps. That was until the other day when I ran out of my tried and true Suave Tropical Coconut shower gel and was forced to use my husband's regular Irish Spring bar soap. To my surprise, it lathered well and actually had a refreshingly pleasant scent. Plus, it left my skin feeling clean and soft.

Since I was so pleased with the results, I'm now considering giving my fruity-smelling favorites a break and picking up a few bar soaps instead. Hey, change is good!

Do you find that you get stuck using your favorite products without giving new ones a try?

I love using body wash! Anything that's organic, and combines shea butter with a pleasant fragrance i'm all for it! Now, if I am using a bar, it's mostly "black soap" with oatmeal,it leaves my skin feeling smooth and sooooo soft! I love to get my sexy on by any means!!

I'm a devotee of the fresh soaps. The Mangosteen is insanely yummy! I also love the Freesia... but that mango scent is delicious. Prior to their soaps I'd been using liquids for years because I needed the moisture. Hard to believe I'm getting such good results (and such incredible scents) from bars!

Thanks for pointing out a few new ones ;)

BGG, you're not going to believe me but the other day I sent my daughter to do the grocery shopping and she came home with Irish Spring. I was secretly annoyed because I thought she knew that soap (on the list) meant Dove! Anyway, I told her she did a great job and I was forced to try it. I really liked it. I don't know that I would actually purchase it again simply because I'm one of those....when I find something I like, I just stick with it...except for my men. I swap them out every couple of years! :-)

There is nothing better than a warm shower and the sweet smell of soap after a long day at work.
I much prefer bar of soap than liquids.
I have tried few of the soaps that you suggested and the winner is L"Occitane.
I was given the Bliss Serious and I didn't care for the shape and odor.
I used Clinique for a long time it does the job but I hate the small bars.

It is good to give new products a try at least every now and then. You can still get your fruity scent from some bar soaps, you may want to try bath and body works bar soaps. :-)

I used to use body wash in college, but when I graduated I switched to bar soap. Now you have me trying to figure out why... Maybe because it lasts longer and is easier to carry. Oh I remember, I'm a germophone and got freaked out that body wash wasn't doing the job, so I was using soap and body wash, then I just cut the body wash out.

Oh I love my soaps, good old Lush satisfies all my needs. I also cannot do without my loofah that gets rid of all the dead cells. Shower gels are great but nowhere near as fulfilling as a soap bar.

soap is soap, any one really gets the job done but i prefer using dove when possible since i can use it on my face as well.

I love Dr. Bronners liquid peppermint soap. Once you start on this you won't go back to bar soap. Loves it.

I didn't know so many people chose bar soap over gels! LOL

I think I'm definitely going to try some of my picks, as well as some bars from B&B Works.
