When it comes to taking care of our tresses moisturizing is key. I've been using SoftSheen Carson's Roots of Nature Stimulating Scalp Oil for the past couple of weeks and have been impressed with the results. The convenient nozzle allows me to part my strands while easily dispensing the semi-fragrant oil, which is enriched with shea butter and green tea to help prevent breakage.
Since I have a super dry scalp, it's imperative that I use products like this scalp oil that soothe and moisturize without creating that unwanted stringy, greasy look that so many other products create.
SoftSheen Carson's Roots of Nature Stimulating Scalp Oil available at www.drugstore.com for $6.99

i'd try it. i normally dont put anything directly on my scalp because it makes the rest of my hair all oily and stringy like you described. also, it thickens my hair at the root when i add oil there so i really dont like it. i want something that will make it lay down
I truly believe in shea butter. I'm look forward to try this product.
oh! Luv to try;-)!
I use an olive oil-based product. I may try this too since it has shea butter and green tea in it.
I use coconut oil, but if you massage your scalp everynight, that dry scalp problem is alleviated tremendously-believe me!
it's interesting because hair oil is so important in the indian culture, too. almond oil, amla oil, and coconut oil are all popular oils for indian hair... i've never been a regular, but you've motivated me to moisturize my scalp this weekend :)
I use a mix of rosewater and glycerin and sometimes coconut oil for my scalp. I am willing to see waht this new stuff is about though.
Good post. I haven't really moisturized my scalp in a long time because I pretty much wet and condition the natural tresses every day or every two or three days.
LOL @ antithesis, telling your roots to SAT DOWN somewhere.
I'd like to try I have a really flaky scalp and would love to try something that will not weigh down my thick hair.
I too have a horribly dry scalp. I would definitely love to try this product. I heard that green tea is good for the scalp.
FYI....Be careful with itchy and flaky scalps. I thought my scalp was just extra dry, but the dermatologist determined that I actually had a scalp fungus. He prescribed some meds and it soothed my scalp right away. Now I use olive oil to moisturize, but will try the Carson's too.
I would like to try it! I have the dryest/driest (have no idea what the correct spelling is and I hate being wrong) scalp known to mankind.
Thanks for the post. I haven't used this product before but I'd give it a try. Like another commenter on here, I use olive oil to help combat dryness...but just a bit of it so it doesn't clog the pores, weigh down my hair or make it oily and flat.
My scalp is extremely dry. Right now I'm using braid spray (even though i have no braids in..lol) but it moisturizes my hair like no other. I'd really like to try this product since I'm always looking for the next best solution to my hair woes.
I melt a little shea butter and put it in a bottle with a nozzle and apply it directly to my scalp. Sometimes I add a little tea tree oil to it too. It's an all natural moisterizer and it works great. My hair is never too greasy.
i use coconut oil too, but i wud certainly love to try this!
I have noy been able to find anything to combat my flaky scalp. Maybe I'll give this a try. Thanks BGG!
Im definitely going to try this! I already have a really dry scalp and the fact that I workout and sweat daily doesnt help. Thanks for the tip!
BGG, I'd love to give it a try especially since you say it doesn't leave the hair stringy and greasy. There's nothing worse than having the greasies!
Thanks for posting on this product. I've been eyeing it the last two times I was in Wal-Mart(shameless plug). Normally, I concoct my own hair/oil/treatments by using distilled water, jojoba oil, EVOO, and almond oil and maybe some other carrier oil for a nice scent. I have loc's so its impertative that I keep my babies moisterized and the scalp clean and healthy.
I don't normally put anything on my scalp but this product looks good. I would love to try it.
I would def try this. I currently use coconut & olive oil for my dry scalp.
I sometimes put coconut oil on my scalp, or spray a mix of water & peppermint oil when my scalp is itchy. I would definitely try this product
I should use something, lol.
I would love to try this product!
Thank you for introducing us to the latest products! It is very generous of you!!
I'm pretty particular about what I put in my hair and always welcome product recommendations.
Sounds very cool. I'll have to try it. I have such dry scalp.
@BeautyLogic - thanks for the tip! i need to start massaging asap! :-)
