Skintastic Body Scrubs

Want to get baby-soft skin? Well, the key is to exfoliate your entire body with body scrubs! Just like with our faces, our bodies need to have dead skin removed from the surface by gently scrubbing with microbeads, sugars and other exfoliants to get rid of dull-looking skin.

Using body scrubs in the shower or bath at least once a week will help replenish skin cells and leave skin feeling silky smooth! Remember, don't over do it because using them too often can cause skin irritation.

One of my absolute favorite scrubs is the Say Yes to Carrots Moisturizing Body Scrub. It's made with real carrot juice and essential minerals. Plus it smells delightful, yet it isn't overwhelmingly fragrant.

Do you use body scrubs? What are some of your favorites?

Here are a few popular choices:

Say Yes to Carrots Moisturizing Body Scrub available at www.walgreens.com for $9.99

Ecstasy Sea Salt Scrub available at www.carolsdaughter.com for $28

Bliss Hot Salt Scrub available at www.sephora.com for $36

Fresh Brown Sugar Body Polish available at www.fresh.com for $62.50

L'Occitane Shea Butter Ultra Rich Body Scrub available at www.loccitane.com for $34

Neutrogena Energizing Sugar Body Scrub available at www.drugstore.com for $9.99

Philosophy Senorita Margarita available at www.drugstore.com $25

My favorite by far would have to be the brown sugar scrub by Fresh. I just love the scent and the texture, it leaves you nice and smooth! And the ingredients are great also....

I am in love with all things Neutrogena! Their body scrub leaves me feeling extremely soft and the scent is wonderful, not too heavy. I'm going to try the Say Yes to Carrots today since it's at Walgreens and it seems like I go there everyday!

Body scrubs do make your skin feel fresh.
I have tried a few and although I love the ones that have oil in them, they can be a bit dangerous for the next person using the shower. The residue of the oils can make the floor slippery.
Lately I've been using the L'Occitane Shea Butter and I enjoy it.
But I'm looking forward to trying your recommendation on Yes to Carrots.

i always knew you were an extremely clean woman. any woman with a name like brown girl gumbo has to be.

no offense. just bringing laughter.

i'm cool with a woman who uses body scrub but i don't know what kind. it smells like tapioca fruit juice though.

I love this Fresh Brown Sugar Body Polish and I use it all the time. My skin feels great and smells awesome. I also like Lush face scrub Ocean Salt for use other than my face.

I learned how to make my own body scrub but that lasted all of two minutes.

LOL @ Don.

@ mimieyes, sounds like someone you know had an accident. :(

Anywho, I exfoliate my face way more than my body, but I do have a couple of salt scrubs and sugar scrubs in the repertoire that I use from time to time. I don't know what they are though, but they're yummy (feeling)!

I have net met a body scrub that I didn't like. The problem is having them all in the shower cady! It gets crazy sometimes and I just have to declutter...making room for more!

As a budget "foodie", it's difficult to imagine spending money on salt and oil. The same marinating ingredients for a roasting chicken, softens my skin, too. I spend my limited disposable cash on Trader Joe’s Tangerine Sugar Scrub for $6.00. And, the sugar doesn't painfully irritate healing wounds. And, Trader Joe's also sells a lavender salt scrub.

@ Don - You are so silly!!

@Mimieyes - You're right...I've actually slipped because of some body scrub oil residue!

@Sanura - I have to try Trader Joe's Tangerine Sugar Scrub, it sounds delicious!!
