Cute Kicks

I'm back from Chicago and I missed you guys so much!! I'm completely exhausted, but BGG has returned with regular posts. Yesterday was the first day I didn't post anything. I was too tired since my flight was delayed 2 hours. Anyway, back to business!

Being that I have never liked the look of sneakers, sometimes a girly girl like me has to break down and buy a pair in an effort to stay fit. I hadn’t owned a pair of sneakers since high school until a few weeks ago. I decided to purchase a pair so I could exercise properly since we all know that stiletto heels and chic ballet flats won’t get the job done.

So, as I embarked upon my quest for cute, non-clunky athletic shoes, I surprisingly noticed that there were quite a few that were actually wearable. Now I can finally try to stay fit and still look feminine at the same time!

Are you a sneaker or as we call them in Chicago "gym shoe" person?

Check out some of these:

I went on Footlocker and ordered the pink n' green Nike Women's Shox Turbo Sneakers before I even finished reading your post.

Thanks for the tip, BGG!

Hope you had a great time in Chicago.

"Must be the shoes", got me thinking about Mike with Spike Lee in those old Nike commercials.

I'm not a sneaker person at all. The only time I wear sneakers is when I'm headed to the gym and those are my nike's from when I was in HS. They are old but gold to me.

Welcome back BGG! I missed you and while I'm not a sneakers person, I do keep have two pairs..one black and one white. It's very rare that I wear them but they do come in handy sometimes when I need to hit the mall hard and heavy! Mine are cute and girly and lightweight. I absolutely hate thick, clunky gym shoes...yuk! Just so you know, a cute gym shoe and a cute cap or a matching cute t-shirt is the perfect attire for grocery shopping!

Welcome back! We missed you... I'm not much of a sneaker person per se, but I always have to have atleast one pair in rotation (per season) outside of my regular "gym shoes". The pair that I have for the summer I absolutely LOVE, they're from DKNY.

I really don't like wearing sneakers unless I'm going to the gym or if the weather is crappy. I try to buy good ones that are good for walking because I learned you need the right support. But I've always wanted to purchase the ones that look like a sporty Mary Jane lol by Skechers

Welcome back!

I am not a gym shoe wearer. (I love that you're from Chicago and understand what I'm saying).

I have two pairs, both the Champion brand from Payless. They get the job done. If I'm going to spend $60-115, I'm buying some BCBG pumps or leather boots. Good picks though. If I'm ever in the market for a real pair of gym shoes, I'll consider your picks.

i recently brought some Asics and they are super comfy for the gym but way too hot to walk around all day in the city.

I grew up calling them "gym shoes". And I definitely enjoy a good pair!

thanks for featuring skechers (I love skechers sneakers). Everytime I think of Addidas, Run-DMC comes to mind, but the addidas sneakers you chose looked cute.

Hey...I'm going to Chicago this weekend. Great post, if I were to rock some sneakers they would probably be along these lines...kinda feminine.

P.S. missed ya

@Virtuous Blue - Be sure to go to the Taste of Chicago!! It's over on the 6th; I didnt' get a chance to go while I was there.

@PBW - I did have a great time in Chicago! Wow, you bought those gym shoes? I'm so glad I could help you out!! :-)

@Tawanna - Remember those commercials? They were good!

@Solshine - Are you from Chicago? Oh I remember, you're from Detroit! I guess we Midwest girls call them "gym shoes!" LOL!

I can't believe you have lived in NYC all these years and haven't bought a pair. Just in my two days visiting you, I regretted not bring my super chic white and gold Nikes with.

It is so easy to look chic in sneakers, if you notice, super models are always wearing them on a super cute outfit... but I guess they can afford not to lose any inches wearing flats.

Regardless, I'm happy to hear that!

Also - I wanted to add that as girls - we think that super hot stilettos add total attraction appeal but you would be surprised at how many guys prefer a girl in gym shoes over some hot stilettos!

I don't wear gym shoes very often but I do like the pair in the last picture.

Glad you had a good time. I like Chi-town.

I love the skechers! I love sneakers that don't look like your typical gym shoe cause they've got a little more pizazz ;o)

Glad you had a good trip!

I don't wear tennis shoes unless I'm at the gym. It's time for me to order a new pair. I'll see what's available in my size - the ones you posted are cute!
